I believe that material things should be reduced because of both economic and family reasons. Material things can pull a family apart. For instance my Dad likes to buy the latest and greatest "toys". People think just because a person has things in their drive way or have things they can brag that they are happy. This is not true in most cases. Yes, it does sound cool to say that you have this and that, but many people don't know the other side of the matter. When people go out and buy nice expensive things, other more essential objects can't get paid for. It usually can cause an argument that occurs not just once, but multiple times. It's kind of funny when you think about it. These people that have the money are said to be "popular", but in reality what you have won't matter. When college comes around that money in most cases is gone. A lot of people can't manage it. This is how they have grown up so I believe it will be hard to adjust.
I've noticed that there are some people out there have no snowmobiles or other things. it's really noticeable in their attitude and family life. Families are usually closer together. It's just amazing to see the difference. Arguing happens in every family but the situations differ. The argument are usually fixable and less sever. I guess what is comming across is material things can chane a view of a person, but that view doesn't mean a lot. When we think it does it tends to get the best of us. Just remember you can always change you're future but the past will remain within up, there's no changing that.
